19 August 2010 Erja Lyytinen Set for European Tour Blues guitarist Erja Lyytinen and her band will kick off a European tour at the end of September. Erja Lyytinen tours with her band on a constant basis both in Finland and abroad with an average of 100 shows a year.
Ms Lyytinen will start her tour in Sodertalje, Sweden on September 29th. The tour consists of five shows in Sweden, ten concerts in Germany, four gigs in Switzerland, four dates in the UK and one in Denmark. She will even play two prison concerts in Germany. Erja and her band will get in the mood of touring already at the end of August in Lugano, Switzerland, where they will play three shows.
The band's line-up features Erja Lyytinen (guitar and vocals), Davide Floreno (guitar), Harri Taittonen (keyboards), Matti Vallius (bass) and Rami Eskelinen (drums).
This summer they have performed at blues festivals in Norway and Sweden, in addition to their native Finland, where they had gigs at the Lakeside Blues Festival (Puistoblues) – one of Europe's major events – among others. Erja is known as an energetic performer -- she has played in clubs, concert halls, prisons and religious conventions.
Last year Erja and her band had a mini-tour of a dozen shows in the UK. They will head back to the UK in March 2011.
Erja Lyytinen is an ambitious artist with a strong musical vision, which she has maintained from the beginning of her career. Erja has written the majority of the songs on the album. Ruf released Erja's international debut "Dreamland Blues" in 2006. "Grip of the Blues" followed two years later.
